Steps
- Look up your Washington County parcel to confirm the parcel number, situs address and current just value.
- Confirm the Value Adjustment Board petition deadline with your county VAB clerk. The window is typically about 25 days after the TRIM notice is mailed; verify the exact date for your county.
- Petition the just value (fair market value as of January 1) with evidence of market value, such as recent sales of comparable homes. Homestead Save Our Homes caps apply to assessed value separately from just value.
- File a petition with the county Value Adjustment Board clerk before the petition deadline (often Form DR-486). Later options include circuit court.
